Nanyanzi Rukia (52 years old) was born in Jinja. She has two children: one is 17 and the other one 28.
She speaks English, Luganda and Lusoka. She went to school until primary 7, then she worked for many years as a housemaid for an Indian family, however she stopped working there as they were paying her too little.
She is divorced from her husband and is living with her youngest boy. Thanks to the money she makes from the jewellery she pays his school fees.
