Akumu Beatrice was born on 4th May 1990 in Badebe Lamo and she has been living in the Acholi for about 13 years. She lost her mother during the war and she got married when she was really young. Since her husband left her for another woman, she is now a single mother taking care on her own of her two kids. Besides making jewelry she works in a factory but she doesn’t earn much. However thanks to the 22STARS foundation she has been able to rent a house and save some money.
