Alice is 36 years old and joined 22STARS in May 2015. She is born in Gulu in Northern Uganda and is the sister of Susan Laker. She came together with Susan during the war to Kampala. In Uganda your last name is given by your auntie or grandmom, not by your parents as is the case in Europe. Alice got married, but her husband ran away, so now she is raising alone her daughter of 18. After she gave birth to her first child something went wrong and caused her a lot of stomach problems the last 18 years. Alice finally went to a hospital in Gulu were she got 3 stomach operations. She is very grateful that we are helping her in paying the school fees of her daughter.
