Short movie behind the scenes NSDM werf Amsterdam

Hi Stars!

Yesterday we shot the pictures of our last pieces of the Spring Summer 2014 collection STARDUST: a girl who travels! We had the honour to work again with our model Chris Rigaud and make up artist Wouter van Schaaijk. All the old bags you see in the pictures are from my grand-grand mother!! As location we chose the NSDM werf in Amsterdam: just a ferry ride away behind the Central Station from Amsterdam and you feel like setting sail in a different world. NDSM-werf looks like the set from a post apocalyptic film: abandoned boats and trams (in some of them people actually live) rust by the water’s edge, graffiti scrawls across every surface, smoke stacks belch in the distance, and a huge crane gazes over it all. The area is actually a city-sponsored art community called Kinetisch Noord that has taken over a derelict shipyard. Participants converted a mondo old warehouse to hold more than 100 studios, theatres and a skateboard hall, and it has quickly become a centre for underground culture and events. There are often festivals held like DGTL, Henk in de Fabriek, Voltt and Valtifest. We had lunch and a drink at Café Noorderlicht (Neveritaweg 33), which is a Tibetan-prayer-flag-draped greenhouse with biological drinks and food.

I hope you love it as much as we do!
