Winne is the adorable little girl of our 22STARS artisan Ojiri Santina. Her father died when she was still a baby. Winne has 2 brothers and 1 sister. Her mother was forced into marriage with 14 and was only 15 years old when she got her first child. As a result, she had to abandon school completely after delivering and couldn’t find work. Santina is extremely grateful that we teached her how to make paper jewellery and made her part of our team. When we paid Winne’s kindergarten fees for term 1 and term 2 she was crying from happiness. She is also very happy that she got the opportunity to start making jewellery for 22STARS, so she can finally put enough food on the table for her children.
